My Husband just got his mother a used car. She parks it at my house. So it wasn't in use for about a week. when She did go to use it, the battery was dead. So Hubby went to get a new battery.
Now, everyday he runs the car for 15-20 minutes. Is this necessary to keep the battery going?Car battery?
its not necessary ... if the car is not being driven, just disconnect the negative post of the battery ...
but do start it everyonce in a while ...Car battery?
If its a new battery youdon't have to do that every day. Call the place where you got it and tell them it is not drove alot and they will tell you what to do.Car battery?
It shouldn't require more than a 20 minute trip once a month to keep a battery healthy provided the cable connections are clean.
Extreme temperatures can kill an older battery but not a healthy new one.
