Will car battery work after sitting overnight?

My sisters car battery is dead after the lights were left on. The hood won't open because the hood release latch is broken. If the car just sits all night will it work in the morning? Will car battery work after sitting overnight?
Best to get the hood latch fixed, so you can check all under hood, but for emergency type fix if you have a spot light or a plug in that will fit the cig lighter you can use a 1 amp charger through it, but you have to wire it correct so the plus side is the center of plug and the minus wire is the side contact if you know what your doing this will work for you over night, the hood cable that broke can be opened by any mechanic, If you decide to charge your batt through the cigg lighter, make sure its low amp charger as to high amp can cause a wire to get hot and catch the car on fire, they do make 1 amp charger with cigg lighter plug on the end if you wish to buy one, P.S. sometimes a batt if its newer or in good shape will build up some during the night but not enough to start the car acid type batt will recover some on there own. No.

the vehicle needs to be running for the alternator to charge it up. This would be like asking "my cell phone batter died, if I let it sit all night will it charge itself up?"

Get a pair of pliers and grab where the hood latch release was (I am assuming under the dash) and pull. Keep a pair of pliers in the car.

I'm more concerned about the condition of the engine . . . if you haven't been opening the hood how have you been checking (or changing) the oil or any of the other fluids.

If the lights were left on for any length of time - it may take quite a while to jump start it.Will car battery work after sitting overnight?
no, I work as a technician at a local toyota dealer, the battery may build over time but only if the cables are unhooked even then the battery wont charge enough. u need to manualy open the hood and then charge it if u let me know what kind of car shes has i may be able to help u do it.
Not likely.

You need to get the hood release fixed anyways otherwise you won't be able to do essential things like oil changes.
