Is it OK to use a car battery in a gas powered golf cart?

I've got an old Cushman (1970 I'm told) gas powered golf cart that I'm fixing up. I want to add lights, radio, PA system and such to it for use in events. The battery that's in there now is like a tractor battery, maybe 2/3 the size of a decent car battery. I want to change the battery, but I also do not want to overload the charging system in the cart. Does anyone have any input on this?Is it OK to use a car battery in a gas powered golf cart?
As long as it is a twelve volt system and a twelve volt battery, it does not matter. Is it OK to use a car battery in a gas powered golf cart?
doesnt matter long as it fits

battery doesnt put out a charge over what charging system wil put out

12 volt battery that hooks up same way is good

if changing system is working it wil handle a light or radio

and can install a bigger battery if you can fit it buger wil cut down charging time but its how much you use the powerIs it OK to use a car battery in a gas powered golf cart?
12volts is 12volts.

If the golf cart is 12volts, then a 12volt automobile battery will be fine.

If the golf cart is 6volts, then you need a 6volt battery.

If the golf cart is 24volts you need a ?
no you should use a deep cycle battery .
