My car battery has died because I left the lights on?

I saw that my car lights were on. I guess they'd been on for a few hours. Well now, my car battery won't start. My mom said that she'd give my car a jump with her battery. Will this really fix the problem, or am I going to need a new battery? Sorry, I don't know much about cars. Thanks for any help.My car battery has died because I left the lights on?
If after getting a jump start and running the engine for at least one full hour your battery should be 80+ percent charged and normal driving after that point will restore it if it is in good condition. If your battery was already weak however it may not recover and will have to be replaced.

I have had batteries recover completely from a total discharge and others fail totally after a moderate discharge. If you have a fail to crank situation after recharging your battery for at least an hour then replacement is the only option.
"How Old is your Battery (3 to 4 1/2 Years is a Batteries life)" Won't Fix it but will get you going then "Drive!" it for 30 Minutes "With EVERYTHING" turned Off! if that gets it to where it will start? then when you have time (Soon) have the Battery Fully Charged then "Load Tested" to see if it is still Good.My car battery has died because I left the lights on?
yes a jump start will fix the problem. once your car is started the alternator will charge your battery. Make sure when you jump start, connect to your mothers car first then your car and unhook yours first. Put positive to positive, and negative to negative.
no you won,t have to get another battery. just make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight and don,t forget to turn the lights off. the lights is what ran the battery down.My car battery has died because I left the lights on?
the right thing to do is to charge the battery, because when you jump start you could burn out your computer system if not done properly.
how old is the battery if its over 4 years old replace it
duh
