Car Battery?

Is is normal for a car battery to just go bad? I started my car this morning and drove to work. Left it at the parking garage where they had to restart it to park. They then bring my car back up from underground and park where I can get in and leave...except that the battery was dead when I tried to come home tonight. They would have just brought the car up not 15 minutes before I got there...

Just curious. I don't know a dang thing about cars.

It's a 2003 Kia Spectra, FYI. Thanks ahead of time!Car Battery?
Depends on several things.

If you have had the same battery for more than 3 years, then you should probably change it out. The average life of a battery is 3 years. Some last longer than others, but they could die at the drop of a hat.

If the battery is less than 3 years old, check the terminals (those are where those cables are attached to by clamps, either on the top or side of the battery) for corrosion, which will be white or green crust. More times than not, the battery could be fine, but the corrosion will not let the battery make a good connection. Just don't breathe that stuff or get it in your eyes.

If there is no corrosion, your cells could be low on water. Sometimes, even a "maintenance-free" battery needs a little water every now and then. There should be two panels on top of the battery, where the warning labels are etched. Pop them off with a screwdriver, and they will reveal several holes, which will be the cells. Look down inside them. If the water is flat (you can see your reflection), the cell is low and you need to add water, but do not overfill. If you can see the meniscus (where the water seems to climb up the walls of the hole), the cell has enough water. Repeat for each hole.

If any of these options do not work, just replace the battery.

*If you do not know about cars, leave this to a professional. If you don't know what you are doing, don't risk breaking something on your car.Car Battery?
you've done well to get 5 yrs out of it, most don't go that long. cold snaps usually finish them off when they're that old.Car Battery?
well this happened to my honda civic dx and my battery kept dying and my problem was that my starter was bad and was draining the battery
may be battery.... or the attendant may have left lights or accessory on......try charging battery first
