Car Battery?

In the winter my car dies when it gets really really cold. Could that be just the battery or something else? I got a new battery in July 06 and all last winter it would die. I want to be able to hopefully fix the problem before it starts to freeze again. Any Ideas?Car Battery?
Temp? won't turn over? Starts with rough idle then dies? Engine type?

CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) has to be the right size (Amperage) for your car or just a little bigger. Battery Tender (2 1/2 Amp. Charger) might work but more information on the engine is needed.Car Battery?
Sounds as if you have bought the wrong type of battery for your neck of the woods......BUT

It's a possibly that if you still have the reciept , that they can exchange it for one that is made for colder weather and again mayber you just got a lemon of a battery to start off with, either way take it back , especially if it has any kind of warrenty left on it....don't forget the receipt , you probley stuck it in the glove box....Car Battery?
Sounds like you need a battery with higher CCA and that will last better in your climate. Also, this is a little trick. When its real cold and you go to start and you-r car won't start, remember this, the temperature of a wire will effect its ability to allow current to flow. So, if your batter is real slow when you try to turn it over, turn on your headlights for about a minute. And then turn them off and try to start your vehicle. The current that flows to light the headlights will cause a slight rise in heat of the wire as amperage is flowing through them, this will allow more current through when you try to start your vehicle.
put a trouble light on an extention cord under your hood with a blanket or car cover over it, this will keep battery from freezing, or get whats called a battery tender, it's a small charger (about 29.00) and will not overcharge your battery, but will keep it going. and you just leave it plugged in while parked.
