4 hours is about right. Most cars today have small batteries and dont last long. That is why I always get the biggest one that will fit in the tray. All 3 of my cars have a 1200 amp battery although it may not fit in your car. Headlights on means you have both headlights and all the marker lights on too. that is a lot of power being drained. Your battery needs to be put on a charger and fully charged before you can depend on it. I f you jump start it it will last for a little while but will not charge fully from the alternator and may cause dammage to the charging system. You can get a charger pretty cheap at wal mart or a battery store. They are cheaper than a new battery and are good to have just in case. Good luck.
