Hi, I've never installed a sound system in a car and I have a powered sub but I don't know how to hook the big cable to the car battery's positive terminal. The end of the cord is a flat circle, looks kind of like a washer, and the connector for the battery is obviously not, its a cylindrical ring. Am I even asking the right question? They do connect right? They are different shapes, so how to they match up? Any other tips on routing the cable through the engine would also be appreciated, thanks everyone. How do you connect a subwoofer cable to the car battery??
if your battery is a top post, take the nut or bolt out of the clamp and put your eyelet in there, if it is a sidepost, unscrew it all the way, you may need to cut away some plastic right near where it hooks up to the battery, put the eyelet in there and screw it back in, sometimes the bolt isnt long enough (GM) you can get a bolt that is a little bit longer at your local stereo shop. How do you connect a subwoofer cable to the car battery??
You need to buy this thing that you hook up to your battery that will enable you to output power to your amp.
If its your first time hooking this up, I recommend you get someone who has done this before to help you.How do you connect a subwoofer cable to the car battery??
Jeremy is correct.
you need to take the bolt on your battery terminal off stick the washer lookin thing on the bolt and tighten it down but make sure you have the amp kit grounded first oryou will blow your fuse and possibly your amp
