What is the estimated life of a car battery?

I bought a new car Battery, but the Battery went dead less than 12 months after driving for few days in snowstorm.

Thanks. What is the estimated life of a car battery?
Three to five years on an OEM (original equipment manufactures) battery. My dad had an OEM AC-Delco last eight years in his 98 four wheel drive S-10. Nowadays OEM AC-Delco batteries are imported from Mexico and they don't last as long. I had a replacement Interstate Megatron battery last eight years when I gave a car to my daughter. It is now one year later and the battery has 12.37 volts and the car starts fine. I'll have to admit it is tuned-up sharper than a tack, uses no oil and has the correct viscosity in it.

Your question is a good one but somewhat ambiguous as there are so many *grades and warranty replacement periods on replacement batteries. Your question would have been easier to answer if you had told us exactly what you bought. How does your charging system test as far as voltage? It must be between 13.5-14.0 volts with the motor running. Are your cables name brand and are all the attaching points clean dry and tight?

The best 12 volt battery in the world could fail tomorrow do to defects in the cells or cell build-up that fell to the bottom and shorted particular cell.

Stay away from sealed batteries. An alternator that overcharges the battery boil the acid out and you have no way of knowing what the acid level is.
Generally锛宼he life of battery is 5 years.

But if your battery has some problems in the quality, you'd better to find your receipt and take it to the service station.

Before doing that锛宮ake sure there is no problems with your car锛宔specially the components which is related with the battery.

By the way,buy a high quality battery and notice the warranty replacement periods on replacement battery. What is the estimated life of a car battery?
There are a lot of factors which influence how long your battery will last, extreme temperature is one of them, extended operation in hot and cold environments, bumpy /off road operations, use exceeding the alternator output causes the battery to supply additional current, severly discharging and recharging the battery frequenly. Charging system and electrical system malfunction. The battery is designed to operate within a very narrow state of charge, if you discharge it frequently, and start the car it will recharge at a very high rate, also bad for the alternator and other system components. You can buy batteries warranted to 70 months, usually the longer the warranty the better the quality. thats just the rule of thumb, price also is an indicator of a quality battery, although not always, stick to name brands, ask your friends if they have had success with a particular brand. Most national chain stores sell decent batteries, stay away from the real cheap ones. ps...most batteries are manufacture by just a couple of companies so a lot of components are the same amongst brands, just the labels are different. lots of imports on the market also.. hope this was helpful... oh by the way, sometimes you just get a bad battery, it happens, have your charging system checked before replacing again to be sure.....good luck
There may be nothing wrong with the battery. Most cars do not have a charging system that will keep the battery fully charged at all times. When driving very slow in the storm with the wipers, headlights, radio, blower, heated glass, and more running, the alternator may be producing less current than the accessories are draining.See if it's alright in more normal driving. What is the estimated life of a car battery?
Most batteries have a life expectancy stamped on the battery. For example 60 months. Most batteries installed at the factory will have this type battery.

Hope this answers your question.
You can buy new batteries with warranties up to 60 months, but the real life expectancy depends on the maintenance and condition of your electrical system. If your alternator or wiring fails, the battery won't last long.
Buy a quality battery.
