How much does a car battery usually cost?

I know you can tell me exactly how much, but around average how much should a car battery cost. I have a 98 ford escort and the battery is dying.|||Good one $100

Bad one $50|||Hi Christa,,,,, go to Wal Mart with your Dad or Bf,, or ask a service guy inside, they will fix you up with the right kind you need... probably around 50 dollars,,,, will get you what you will need .... It would be cheaper if you let a friend install it for you. They will charge you a fee for that.. maybe or probably....

good luck|||Depends on where you go, but you are looking at $40 for an ok on, or up to $100 for a good one. My advice, spend about $75 and get a good one, that way you don't have to worry about it dying real fast lijke the cheap ones. Like the old saying, spend more now or spend a lot more later!|||A car battery varies, but the cost from a minimum of 拢40 to a max of 拢80! The price in batteries all depends on the quality of the battery you are looking for, to be honest you are best off just getting a avergage battery from a well known store. Most stores also come with a min of 30 day garuantee|||40 to 60.... dont pay more unless you are keeping the car forever.|||$75|||No need to settle for guesses, open up your yellow pages, find auto parts dealers and call one. Then all you'll need is someone with a brain to install it for you.|||Walmart is the cheapest place I know of, typically 40 bucks|||Anywhere between $50 to $100|||Buy it at walmart or kmart. They have good ones and they are real good about there warranty.Just make sure its the battery first,Turn on the head lights and see how long it takes to drian it.Some times the alternater cant charge it up fast enough.|||You can usually find a battery at Autozone, Advance Autoparts, Etc for around $50-$60 when you bring your old battery in as a core trade in.

Brand name batteries will cost you anywhere from $70+$120.

But a little secret...the batteries you find at Meijers, Walmart...are made at the same place the brand name batteries are.

You could also find a good used battery for $30 at some local salvage yards.

Also you may want to check out your alternator...sometimes battery problems are disguised as alternator problems.|||A decent battery will cost you about $75 but, bring the old one in with you and they will give you money for it. They call it the core. They take the old battery cores and recycle them. They should give you another $8 to $12 off the price of the new battery when you bring the old one in. Plus, if you bring the old one in they might be able to test it and tell you if it needs replacing in the first place. Sometimes it is your starter or alternator that is causing the problems and not your battery. I hope this helps. Take care.
