Is a car battery warrant time reset on the new battery or continues from the original battery?

A Honda car battery has three years warranty. I had a dead battery replaced in two years after a purchase of a new car. I wonder three years warranty is reset on the new battery or continues from the original car purchase date? In addition, if the replaced battery is dead again such as in one year, will another three years warrenty be set on the new battery?
