What could be causing my car battery to die?

I just bought a new battery a few weeks ago. Even though it's new, my car has been hard to start and it seems something is draining my battery very quickly. If i don't drive the car for a couple days, the battery is completely dead. I've already checked the alternator and it's putting out about 14.5 V so that can't be the problem. I'm also sure that there are no lights left on. Thanks in advance for your responses.|||put your volt tester on your battery and look what the reading is, your starter can drain your battery and so can your alternator when your car is off, undo these one at a time and see if the volts in the battery settle down.|||A light between the battery positive post and the disconnected positive cable should not light. If it does there is something draining the battery. 14.5 volts is somewhat high for charging did you fully charge the new battery before installing it? Also just because its a new battery it can be faulty from the factory. It happened to me. Also bad starters, cables and connectors, blower motors can cause problems. Is the glove box door or trunk lid out of adjustment so the light is on. And those poorly wired stereos, is it off when the key is off?|||Oddly enough, wires have insulation on them for a reason.

But, and here is the "good part", we don't live in a computer animation wherein there are no moving parts ! Wow, huh?

So the insulation can get abraded off, and wires short out.

Weird, huh?

Well when that happens there can be heat formed sufficient to burn your little car into a cinder.

I had a bike nearly burst into flames once. I know.

Get the wires checked.|||It sounds like you have a parasitic drain on the battery. put an ammeter on the battery and check it for drain, even with everything off.|||maybe there is some wrong with the battery.|||maybe a electric short.or may a bad cell in the battery|||a woman
