No the_white_knight, your the tard... If you put the 2 batteries in series, you will get 24V. Parallel hookup would give you 12V, which is what your supposed to have.
Yes, you can use a second battery that you carried out to the car to start the car by using jumper cables. This is the exact same thing as using a jumper box!!! If your second battery is halfway healthy, you will be able to start the car.|||Bunch of tards answering lol.

Let it sit with the other car at about 2k rpm's for a minute or so and then try cranking it. If it doesn't work, wait again for a couple more minutes. The reason for raising the rpm's is that stock alternators in cars only charge above a set rpm.|||wait a min it will charge the old battery but it will drain the new one I am pretty sure! The reason you do it with a running car is because the car is always charging the battery...if the car is not charging the battery it will drain the battery i believe.
